PUTRESCENT SECRETANCY - Reconfiguration of Reality CD review

PUTRESCENT SECRETANCY - Reconfiguration of Reality CD
Self Released
Genre: Death Metal
Rating: 2/5

What you have here is fairly technical death metal from a Florida act. I'll even go so far to say it's average but then they are just starting out. Ten cuts filled with enough guitar theatrics and hoarse screams (Deathcore?) that you'll be scratching your head wondering where are the songs, as in actual songs. One cut "Lack of Oxygen" sounded like a juggalo got behind the microphone to spew some rap three quarters into the song. OK maybe that was an effect which went along with the song's meaning but still I had to go back a few times to hear if it was a defect. Hell why stop at your head when you could scratch your ass with one hand and drag your other one across the floor. I'm guessing along with knuckle dragging there's spinning kicks and those other Deathcore dance moves as part of their shows. They're probably insulted by that line because they're so "technical". Yes as far as talent goes they've got it but the cuts are indulgences in excess.
